Marina and the Diamonds = Marina Diamandis, is a Welch singer-songwriter who just released her debut album Family Diamonds on 22 February 2010. I think Marina is absolutely gorgeous and she's been recently spotted at Henry Holland's and PPQ's fall 2010 shows in London, England. Marina and the Diamonds will perform in New York on March 14th in Brooklyn and on March 15th in NYC. Her tour in the UK starts in May! Marina is going to perform at Isle of Wight and Secret Garden Party festivals in June 2010.

I'm pretty boring when it comes to make-up. I'd love to try new things, though and my friend recommended Kevyn Aucoin's book about make-up for me.. Well I checked out Amazon.com and found two these two books by Aucoin, Making Faces and Face Forward and well, they seem really good. The one in the middle is Makeup Your Mind by Francois Nars and it's also one of the options for my very first purchase of a make-up book.. Haha. We'll see.

So I really need new boots for fall & winter. I actually saw nice ankle boots at H&M some time ago and they were only about £20, hopefully I'll still find them today when I go shopping.

BOOKS: American Fashion Cookbook: 100 Designers' Best Recipes

First I saw this book at a bookstore in London on Saturday and now it caught my eye again but this time on Amazon.com where it's sold for $28. The original price is apparently $45. For fashion & food lover like me the book seems great but I was thinking of getting it for my friend whose birthday is next week and as she shares the same interests as me I think this would be a great buy! I will probably get something else for her as well, she's my best friend after all.

The book just came out on 1st September. This is what the product description says:

♥ STYLE ICON: Angelina Jolie ♥

OK, Angelina Jolie is more likely to be called as "beauty icon" rather than "style icon" but when she gets it right stylewise, Angie is, IMO as much stylish as she's beautiful! Angelina is known to wear lots of black but colors look great on her as well. In her younger years she was sure a bit more of a gothic girl and that style personally made my cringe a little bit, at least some outfits, but still I kind of prefer a more experimental Angelina than Angelina in boring, safe dresses. A woman with a strong beautiful face like Angelina's can pull of the graziest looks! What's your opinion on Jolie?

My favourite movies starring Angelina are "Gia", "Girl, Interrupted" and "Changeling".

~ Wish List for Fall: KNEE HIGH BOOTS ~

The boots from the 1st picture are by Christian Louboutin and they're sold @Net-A-Porter.com for €1520 but sadly the boots are currently sold out! Very sexy ones, but even if I was able to get them, I'm not sure if I could actually pull them off...

Tabitha Simmons designed the second ones and they cost around €1500! They have 11cm heel so if you're not an amateur with high heels and have the money and the style, get them! Would look superamazing with simple black skinny trousers for example.

Third ones are by Brian Atwood and probably my fave ones 'cause they're something that I feel I would actually wear A LOT! They're around €1100. The heel is 7cm. I think I might have a look on these IRL somewhere and who knows..maybe at some point they're mine. I havent been shopping that much lately.....Hmm!

SEXY is just the right word to describe the fourth ones by Stella McCartney. They cost €880 and might not be for everyone, but I can see Vogue Paris girls rocking them during fashionweek!

♥ GAMES FOR DAYS by JULIAN PLENTI ♥

Julian Plenti = the alter ego of the mega talented Interpol lead singer, guitarist and lyricist Paul Banks.

Interpol is one of my ALL TIME favorite rock bands with their sexy melancholy sound. The band has released 3 critically acclaimed albums so far; Turn on the Bright Lights (2002), Antics (2004) and Our Love to Admire (2007). Their 4th album is expected to be released at the beginning of 2010. Paul Banks' solo album "Julian Plenti is... Skyscraper" came out under the name Julian Plenti recently at the beginning of August and at least for me it was a surprise, a pleasant one I must say, though. The album has 11 amazing tracks and my favourites are Only If You Run, Fun That We Have, Games For Days and Fly As You Might. Check them out!

Julian/Paul has been dating the lovely Danish supermodel Helena Christensen for the last couple years and since this at least tries to be some sort of a fashion blog, I must mention that this couple has got some style! Picture from Zimbio.

Julian Plenti's only released music video so far is for Games For Days. It's a like a short film, Julian playing two characters. Looking really good... I cannot stop watching it! The woman in the video is Emily Haines from the band Metric!

~ SPRING/SUMMER 2010 FASHION WEEK SCHEDULES ~

New York fashion week begins on Friday 10th and ends on Thursday 17th September! I can't wait to see Derek Lam's, Narciso Rodriguez's and of course Marc Jacobs' collections!

The fashion week is from 18th September to Tuesday 22nd in London! Luella, Matthew Williamson, Christopher Kane and Burberry are my absolute favorites.

Milan: from 23rd September to 30th September. I have a feeling Missoni and Gucci are going to be ah-mazing, but who knows?

FINALLY, Paris shows the collections from September 30th to Thursday, October 8th! Balenciaga, Balmain, Rick Owens, Lanvin, Gaultier, Chanel, McQueeen..you get the idea. It's the first time I get to see some of the Paris' fashion week in action and as I've probably mentioned 98447 times earlier.. I truly cannot wait!
